I have a treat for you today! This may be the most poorly photographed, sadly written post I’ve ever done.
But the idea is good.
I wouldn’t do the colour combination I did here (red and white) again, but I would love to try this premise again using a big, antique silver plated tray as the vessel.
Confused?
You won’t be once you read the boring, bland, poorly written post …

I stole this idea from Preston Bailey, the guy who planned Oprah’s 50th birthday party. I only steal ideas from the very best!

Bigger is better
What you need:
1 or 2 large roses

Rose petals in shallow dish
1 shallow bowl
1) Gently pluck all the petals off your roses.
2) Carefully lay them in circles in a shallow bowl of water until they appear to be one large rose.
3) Work from the outside towards the inside, starting with a large circle with the biggest petals you have. Continue in circles using smaller and smaller petals. They’ll float around a bit and anger you, but just move them back to where they belong and continue on.
4) Tear off a couple of leaves from the rose and stick them under the petals.
Oh! And do this arrangement where you plan to keep it. It really doesn’t travel well.

Looks good! The idea you have using the silver tray would be stunning, I’ll bet.

I did this two years ago and it was quite the fail! I have a picture of it somewhere because I was going to send it to you and then never did!

I scrolled down and thought, what a great idea for wall art–what could take the place of real flowers? hmmm, fake flower, or plastic spoons…or?
Spokangela
Hey Lani-
When you said plastic spoons I thought of this:

It is really beautiful. Yea. The red was a teeny bit too much. Eh? Just a teeny bit.
