This Week’s Menu.
April 1 – 7th

 

No talking, no speeches, no interesting tid bits. Not today.  You’re getting the menu and only the menu. You’re lucky you’re getting that. I’ve just spent the last 7 hours getting my hair bleached to within an inch of its life (looks great). It’s exhausting for me to sit still and relax for that long.

It’s not natural. Neither the hair nor the state of inertia. Although the hair was natural until about grade 10. Then I started into the steady descent from white, to blonde, to sandy blonde to dirty blond to the state at which I rest today. Dark, mousy blonde.

Besides. I told you long ago when I started up with writing this menu again that this was just an extra post meant solely for your stomach; not your brains. I agreed to go back to writing out my weekly menu as long as you had no expectations of funny or entertainment or sneezing coffee out of your nose.

Today I am cashing in on that agreement. So here yo go … the menu. And only the menu.

  2. Why I don’t do full bleach outs – I can’t have clients hanging out that long. *rolls eyes* ;)

    I had to take a Greek actor from wire-y black hair to a bleach out for a part as a gangster – took 11 hours! OMG. You get off lucky with 7. It’s the Danish in you.

    Our Monday menu will be the same – does leftover Easter food = chocolate? Because that’s what we’ll be having. Just chocolate.

    Hi Karen, my hair is naturally blonde I just dye the roots dark. ;)
    I’m starting an internship (yes, at my age!) for an interiors/design company after Easter as I’m hoping to move in that direction. Haven’t had time to get my hair done so had to distract from that by buying some new boots. Obviously.

    Hi Karen….love your posts! And your beautiful printing, too! I’m a retired second grade teacher and am sad that schools don’t teach nice printing or cursive anymore. Happy Easter:)

      Jane – I must confess that that’s actually typed! It’s a font called “chalkduster”. Although I do take pride in printing and writing cursive. :) ~ karen

    I think I like Monday’s dinner best….making the most of the last candy holiday for awhile…!
    Ugh – the time it takes to make my mousy dark blonde hair light is part of why I’ve given it up and gone for other colors over the past few years. Currently it’s ombre – which still takes 3 hours, but no burning or 6 hours.
    Yay for short hair.

    Glad that was “just the menu” and no other comments…hehe. You still crack me up! But I have a question, do you stick to your menus ? I am good at making a menu and even buying the ingredients… but then someone asks us to dinner or we are too tired to cook… and the menu goes out the windown.

      Emily – I mainly stick to the menu but, sure we deviate the odd time. If I’m too busy to cook or can’t be bothered or don’t feel like having whatever is slated for that night we’ll order in or eat something else. I just make sure if I’ve bought the ingredients I don’t waste them. A few weeks ago I bought whipping cream to make something and didn’t so ended up making Creme Brule with it instead. ~ karen!

    I’m pretty sure Monday’s menu is not Paleo;)

    p.s., my hair did the same thing. I will forever be trying to get it back to my towhead blonde. And, I too get very antsy sitting in the chair for that long. Despite my gravitar showing a similar haircut to yours, I now have long hair down to the middle of my back, so it takes even longer now – ugh!
