I'd love to write a full length highly entertaining post for you, but at this very moment the only thing I can think about is going to bed so I can continue reading this book.
Which is exactly what I'm going to do right now.
It's currently 4:15 p.m. by the way.
Go to the store and buy it. Better yet ... download it to your iPad or Kindle. You'll miss out on the feel of an actual book but it'll be faster that way.
Go. NOW.
Have a good weekend. Details about what this year's Big Spring Project is on Monday morning!

Geez. You know I'm screwed right?
I've got to finish Beautiful Redemption.
Then hurry on to The Host because its in theatres and it won't be long, and its no good to read a book that's out in film if you've watched it first.
Then my kid just got asigned 2 new books in the 6th grade (my new years res. was to read every book she's reading in school - bad idea)
AND now YOU. . .author of my new favorite blog is telling me to read this book. Of which you go to bed at 4 pm just to read it sooner.
Geez. I repeat. Geez.
I've got a lot of reading to do.
And I can't wait:) Thanks for the rec.
Karen
Nicki - I read The Amityville Horror in Grade 6, LOL. Wow. Bad idea. Of course that wasn't exactly a school assigned book. ;) ~ karen!

As bad as me reading "Cujo" when I was 11 or 12. Terrifying. (AND we had a friend with a St. Bernard!)

Karen, if you're experiencing the same nasty ice storm as I am down here in Southern Ontario (strong winds, falling branches, house lights flickering on and off, all the while praying the winds and pack ice change direction and the last line holds on our floating dock), I would suggest you immediately stop whatever you're doing and go straight back to your linen-covered bed with that magical book. It really is the sensible and only thing to do.

That book has been on my "to read" list for at least a year! I guess it's time to read or get off the pot!
Brenda
Well, with a recommendation like that, who could resist. And, yes, I just now purchased it on Amazon and had it "whispernetted" to my Kindle. I'm at work and can't start reading until I'm done.....oh, who am I kidding....Chapter 1....
Alicia
I LOVE that book! I read it a year or so ago and was enthralled!
Deet
Yes, M'am! Read it, loved it, reviewed it. It was optioned for a movie but I haven't heard anything about that lately.
Wendy
I loved this book too, Karen! I practically read it cover to cover - couldn't put it down last summer - and I can't wait to read it again!
Diane
Gonna be a movie! The film rights have been optioned by Summit Entertainment! WOOT! Sounds like an awesome book based on the reviews.
Laura Bee
I will have to beg, borrow or steal it.

Took it back to the library tonight. Thank you! Really loved it - I still have images spinning in my head. Beautiful.
I read in the comments there will be a movie - I sure hope Tim Burton is involved.
Julia
Agreed! Read it last year, a little bit fantastical, a little bit historical...
Jackie Macdougall
I loved it, I read it several months ago. Enjoy!
Claire
It's already sitting on my shelf, but I haven't had time to read it.
Sarah
I read this when it first came out. Totally engrossing, finished it in a day, and I really want to go to this circus!

Read your post and bought the book in less than 5 minutes. Nothing substitutes for the feel of a real book which is why I collect vintage books and magazines.
But my Baby Boomer eyes disagree and so I now use the adjustable font iPad (sigh) for reading.
I will say, though, that reading magazines is cool on an iPad. Quite a different experience to read a recipe compared to reading it and THEN watch a video of the recipe creator demonstrating hw to create it...or getting a behind the scenes interview with a celeb or a decorator, etc.

I wanted to love this book, but sadly I did not. In the beginning I found it hard to put down and by the end I found it hard to finish. The book is filled with gorgeous imagery and descriptive prose, but I found the plot to be too slow.
I do share your love of Lonesome Dove though, it is one of the best books I have ever read!
Sandy B
I agree. Started out engrossed and then had a hard time finishing. Imagery was great but character develope not so much.
Lauren
I felt the absolute opposite! It took me a while to get into it, and then I couldn't stop! It was amazing. I loved the ending.
Gina S.
Agree! It was a great read....
Amie Mason
Done! Thanks for the recommendation!
Ana
I've had high hopes for this book, but for me it was just okay.
Maggie O'C
I'm with Ana. I got to the end and thought, "that's it? huh."
Lesley Williamson
Yep, me too. Made me sad.
Kellie Peterson
I couldn't agree more. I read it months ago on my Kindle but just earlier today I found a first edition online and had to have it. The most engaging book I've read in years.
Laura
Okay!
