A Valentine’s Treat
If Seinfeld and Friends can do it, why can’t I?

I know I’m  “professional blogger” and all (Oh my God, how dorky a thing is that to say?) and I’m not supposed to repeat any posts, but I figure … television shows are pretty professional and they go into repeats all the time.

Last year one of my favourite posts was the one on how to make super easy Valentine’s tarts.  Like … really easy.  Embarrassingly easy.  If you’re a pastry chef you might want to look away because the following post will be quite offensive to you.

If you didn’t see this post the first time around, you should definitely have a look.  If you did see it originally, I just reread it and quite enjoyed it.  It can easily be enjoyed a second time.  This post is the Seinfeld of posts.  You can see it again a year later and still be entertained by it.

That is so sneaky — I mean clever.

    That is so clever!

  2. So simplistically brilliant! You really should post this every year…forever! And, you got me thinking almost immediately about the possibilities…hmmm…chocolate cream tarts!

    Karen-
A good friend sent me the link to your blog a couple of weeks ago. Just wanted you to know that I’m just glad you’re out there, making me laugh and giving me hope that just being and sharing the small shit in life beats the big stuff every time.

Another moment where I hit my forehead and wonder why I didn’t think of that! I probably can’t think these things up because my head is sore from hitting it. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for reposting Karen! I forgot all about this. Last year I lived in Chicago and couldn’t find the mini crusts. Hopefully I can find them now that I’m back in NY.

Yesenia – If you can’t fine the “mini” version that I have … they’re only around 1 1/2″ across … you should be able to find the regular mini version which is around 3″. ~ karen!

  9. I made these last year and they are crazy easy and good!

Thank you so much for this idea! I couldn’t find the little pie crusts either so I bought frozen pastry puffs instead, popped the tops off once baked, and threw some filling in there before placing the top back on. They aren’t hearts, but they are still a cute, yummy treat. Thanks Karen!
