Happy Valentine’s Day.
My Love Letter to Carbs

Happy Valentine’s Day all.

  1. Deirdre Fowler says:

I’m thinking your fella has been replaced by a very well mashed potatoe and for the morning, left over mashed potatoe pancakes (mmmmm).
My fella has been replaced by perogies with way too much sour cream and onions.
    Happy Valentines tummies. xx

YOU ROCK! and I could not agree with you more!

Touching. Love carbs…just dont like the feeling of being followed, turning around quickly and finding it’s my own ass!!! Whaa.

  8. Thera says:

    • you need a like button 🙂

  9. Alex says:

I just ate some cheddar and potato perogies. You will pry carbs from cold dead hands. Kind of like my Wiser’s.

  10. Shauna says:

I love it! This is my kind of poem. we seem to have the same love affair with carbs. My acupunturist told me I want to consider ‘less inflammatory foods’. I asked, “like what” and he said, “like gluten-free”, I said, “you mean like no PASTA!!!” He said, “yes, like no pasta. shhh, this is a calm room” I scoffed and said, “no chance in hell. I’ll live with the pain.”

  11. Jeannie B says:

“Crusty roll and rotting troll.”Amazing poetry Karen! Love it. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. Let’s all, enjoy our carbs tonight.

  12. West Coast Nan says:

  13. Nancy Blue Moon says:

    Dearest Karen & Fella:

    You make me laugh
    You make me smile
    You make me cry
    Every once in a while

    I love your cats
    I love your chickens
    They are so funny
    Those little dickens

Thank you for the joy you bring
    Thank you all for everything

Can’t think of anything else that rhymes
So won’t you be my Valentine

    Your loving admirer, Nancy

    Happy Valentines Day! XOXOXO

  26. Debbie B says:

    Best VD poem ever!
My ancestors came to Canada because of the Irish potato famine, so I just can not turn my back or butt away from them. It’s my way of justifying my inability to ignore them and I am sticking to it. Seriously anyone else hear the voices at the grocery store in the potato chip isle??

  27. Mary Kay says:

LOL – Thanks Karen Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your potatoe!

  28. Sarah says:

I sometimes wonder why you’re not on a comedy circuit, somewhere. You have a certain flair for making the ordinary extraordinarily ridiculous! Thanks!

  29. sundeep @designwali says:

    now that is love.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

  31. Moe says:

LOL, oh my. What a great way to start my day. 🙂
Happy Valentines Day to you and the fella.
Do the girls get any special treats??
I’m on a low carb plan right now so am trying to decide if we should go out to supper ( where I’ll have a greasy cheeseburger and onion rings ) or if I should stay home, cook creamed lobster, and stay somewhat legal. Honestly, I can’t decide.

    • Karen says:

Moe – If you cook every night … go out. If you don’t cook a lot stay home w/ the lobster. I for one will be having foil wrapped cheeseburgers. Done. ~ karen

  32. Sue T. says:

    Thanks for the cute poem.

Happy Valentine Day to a Lovely Lady and Her Fella !!

  33. Marti says:

Sniffle-sniffle! So much sentiment all at once!

(Seriously, you’ve unloaded all your television industry cynicism and gone completely the other direction. Or… not. But it was lovely fun!)

Happy Valentine’s Day, Karen & Fella!

  34. Deb says:

Priceless. A very happy VD to you, without the need for penicillin, of course.
