I Felt these

Yeah, I still have the migraine.

I felt it all day. I felt it all night.    I wish I could have felt these instead. Felt, felt, felt.

You may have noticed that even in my state of blinding pain and altered consciousness I’m able to be clever.  You see, I’m working the word “felt” into this post as many times as possible in order to draw attention to it.  Why, you ask?

Because my featured advertiser does felting.  When I first looked at her Etsy site I didn’t really know what I was looking at, so in my semi-altered state I’m going to try to explain to you what you’re looking at.

These are felted bars of soap.  In other words, they are bars of soap that are covered in hand made felting.    Once I figured that out … well … I was still confused to be honest with you.    I read the descriptions a little further and AHA!  I understood.

To use the bar of soap you just run it under water like normal and then scrub away at your hands.  The felting acts like a tiny, soft scrubber brush, exfoliating your hands as you wash.  AND as the bar of soap shrinks, so does the felting!  So you don’t end up with a big, baggy wrinkled old bag of felting around your soap.  It shrinks with the soap!  Brilliant.  If only  the skin on my thighs would do the same thing.

So, as always here are a few of my favourites from FeltBugg.

Heart Shaped Felted Soap

If I were a better blogger I’d have posted this earlier to give you the chance to buy the “Hearts” felted soap for Valentine’s Day!  If you’re quick about it and she’s quick about the shipping, it could still happen!

Swirly Felted Vegan Soap

There is no logical reason for me to love this colourful, swirly felted soap but I DO.  I’m really attracted to it.  In fact … if I didn’t know any better I’d say it’s hypnotized me.  Do you think it’s really hypnotized me?  ‘Cause I’m pretty sure it has.  No joke.

Monogrammed Soap

Oh.  🙁  Your name doesn’t start with R?  Guess you’re outta luck.  Sorry.  Migraine humour.

Obviously she custom makes these monogrammed soaps.  Your name doesn’t have to begin with R.

Felted Owl on Fossil

Finally, I LOVE the little felted animals Denise does.  They’re all sitting atop a tiny fossil.  She has an iguana and ladybugs and a snake … and my personal favourite, the owl.

Now if you’ll excuse me I have a bunch of lightbulbs in this house I need to shoot out.  I’m also going to have to undress immediately and remain that way until this migraine is gone.  I’m not sure how my clothing got so loud all of a sudden, but crossing my legs in these jeans is enough to make my eyelashes fall out.  I’m surprised my neighbours aren’t complaining about the noise.   THAT’s how loud they are.  Or seem.  I’m not sure of anything anymore.

That’s a lie.  I’m sure of one thing.  I still have a migraine.

Have a good weekend, I’ll see you on Monday with a special Valentine’s Day Post.

  1. Laura says:

I felt like you felt like blogging about felt things today but only if you felt like it.

  2. Renee says:

So sorry to hear you still have that migraine 🙁

Caffeine + Advil always helps mine go away faster.

  3. Jo says:

For years I had migraines — the blinding pain + throwing up for 12 hours straight kind. A friend recommended her acupuncturist and I figured what could it hurt? Nothing could hurt worse than the migraines! That was 8 years ago & I haven’t had a migraine since.

  4. Jan says:

I’m feelin’ your pain, Karen. Feel better soon dear! XOXO

  5. Todd says:

    I feel felt up.

  6. Chrissa says:

While reading this I felt that I should pimp the felt things out.

On another note, I know a chic that has had a migraine since August 1, 2010. Can you believe that f*ckery? I seriously could not imagine. A hr or 4 and 4 Maxalts later and mine better be gone. Or else.

  7. Jenna says:

That owl is absurdly cute. FUZZ.

  8. Annie says:

I felt your pain!!! Try putting your feet in a tub of hot water while applying cold compresses to your neck and forehead. And a little snack accompanied by as much Ibubrofen as you can tolerate, followed by a coffee chaser. Cheers!

  9. Bromeliad says:

    I highly recommend puking.

(That’s for the headache. Not for an etsy concept.)

  10. Evalyn says:

Ice packs and Excedrin in a dark, cold, silent room and when it’s over, a trip to the chiropractor. Since my hysterectomy I don’t get migraines any more, but I don’t recommend that as a cure.

  11. Pam says:

Oh, dear, I feel your pain. Woke up this morning at 1:00 a.m. with one. I am still not feeling 100%. I admire your dedication to posting. I feel like doing nothing but browsing right now. And that is not without some serious effort.

  12. Lisa says:

From one who has had migraines all my life…I can tell you they will go away after Menopause…though you have to go through the hell of Menopause first.
I do not have them anymore, but still remember the excrutiating pain. Hoping you feel better soon.
