And a Betty update. If you read yesterday's post you know it's been a smelling salts kind of week. So not a lot of talk today, just an easy 48 piece puzzle. And this random photo from this week.
Here's yesterday's post if you missed it.
Betty had a random bout of not feeling well again this afternoon, but just for a bit. It seems as though it may have been a side effect of the Paxlovid along with the awful metallic taste.
And in case you're interested in other real life Covid cases, my sister has lost her ability to taste and smell but otherwise feels pretty much fine.
She's eating and upright and running around like normal.
I made the suggestion that since she can't taste anything she might as well just eat handfuls of hard dry pasta. That's a lot of time she could save in the day by not cooking it. 7-11 minutes depending on which package you bought.
Both myself and my other sister are still healthy and fine. I can probably stop counting the days since I've been in contact with one of our Coviddys soon.
Wednesday I was in my mother's ick splattered home to bring her the soup and crackers and explain how to take her medication but I was double masked and also held my breath for 13 minutes.
If there are any other "fun" kind of things you'd like to wake up to on a Saturday morning let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Crosswords? Wordfinds with inappropriate words? Homework assignments? I used to give homework assignments out all the time. Things like challenging you to compliment someone you don't know today. Or cleaning out your freezer.
And you did it. I was shocked.
I liked giving out homework and seeing everyone do it. I felt like a cult leader.
Have a good weekend!

I am TOTALLY inept at working Jigsaw type puzzles (this one took me almost 25 minutes), but they fascinate me and I always think I will be able to do them. I was able to tell this one was one of your "Lip" - who is Beautiful! So, after analyzing it for a while, I had a 'bit of wine' - which everyone knows makes EVERYTHING better ... got my dog to help and started working. I was determined, because I wanted to see "Lip"- so would have worked through the night if necessary ... but miraculously, 25 minutes later, there he was ... in all his Regal beauty!
I LOVE your Blog and always read with interest - when finished, look forward to the next one - whenever it arrives. This is a big thing for me as I NEVER comment, just a "Lurker" and one who REALLY appreciates someone with a wonderful sense of humor AND good ideas!
Take care of Betty ... she's a gem - and we tend to worry!

Ok but enough about Betty! Jk.
Are those new love seats/settee/chair and a halfs?
Love them.

Oh honey, I feel your pain. My dad got a really nasty version of covid last week (mind you he's 2x vaxxed and 2x boosted, so there's THAT🙄), to the point where he was so weak, he went to take a hot bath (thinking that would make him feel better and sleep) and couldn't get out of the tub for FIVE HOURS!!! 😭 He was also having such profound night sweats that he had to put an adult version of a "puppy pad" beneath him to save his mattress...and it would be absolutely soaked when he woke up. He's now extremely weak, sleeping a lot. It'll probably be a very slow crawl back to health...and then we're not sure if that will even be normal health or a "new normal."
My poor sister is blessed? burdened? with doing most of the heavy lifting, as I live way across the country. It's been quite an emotional roller coaster of late, as my parents age (mid 80s).
So Karen, be sure to get Betty some FRESH AIR (my parents keep the house so buttoned up, I think they're just recycling their illnesses!) and let YOU get out and about a bit too, to keep your sanity. Don't worry about us, we'll be happy with any of you we can get, even if it's less than usual! 🥰🙏

Just a thought for your parents, if they have forced air heat you can get hepa grade filters and just set the fan to on and you basically turn your whole house into an air filter to remove germs! I started doing this during the covid lock-down while I was watching kids from multiple families and continued to do so after everything started going again and I feel like it made a huge difference in the spread of germs between the kids.

So glad to hear Betty is on Plaxlovid and responding. Great sit/stay for Philip. The Autumnal colours this year really are spectacular. Thank you for sharing

I loved the puzzle, keep them coming and word searches!
Its good to hear about Betty, when we had it a few years ago, my husband and I both lost our smell and taste, it sucked to cook! It all came back 3 months for me and about 6 months for hubby. Im hoping it doesn't take that long for your sister!

Thank you for the update on your mom and sister. I hope they know that, because of you, they've got "fans" who are sending them good wishes along with their actual personal friends. Someday this awful stuff is going to be in our past.
I didn't need more time-killing activity online, but your puzzles have given me much enjoyment since you started them. Today's was especially fun because I had no idea it was going to be Phillip until nearly done -- I thought it was a tall tree with brush pile at its base. The colors where you live are enchanting, and your handsome boy set against that backdrop makes him even finer looking than usual.
Stay safe and get some rest when you can to keep up your own defenses against the ickies.

You simply must make a puzzle from the photo of your centerpiece and chandelier!

Take some more soup to Betty! Make is stronger! She is much needed to make us all smile! Geeze I just made a deal with myself to not work a single puzzle today as I have almost worn out my fingers and patience with that stupid Google ad in the lower right corner. I find another one today in your email - dang, this could be the day I throw the laptop across the room.
Mary W
I went straight to the puzzle but have remained on your blog so I won't be tempted. I finished in 6+ minutes - AMAZING photo of not only Lip but the background too! You are becoming the Master of Lip (photos) only as I'm sure he is your master!

Glad Betty is doing okay and your sister is fine. Hope you all stay well (and feisty--as usual).
Gretchen
Glad to hear of progress on your ‘sickies’-hope they’re back to normal soon! Lip looks fantastic against the gorgeous fall colors!
Cassey
I hope Betty gets better soon! That flower arrangement really is big lol. I would enjoy doing all of those things on my Saturday mornings! The puzzle was fun :)

Sending love and well-wishes to your beloved Betty!

I hope your Mom and sister have a relatively quick recovery. My biggest concern spending time with my 90 year old parents is unknowingly spreading the virus to them. Knock on wood 🤪
Love the Saturday morning puzzle, thank you for this.
Sabina
Handsome devil!

Well geez Karen! Seeing as you're so proficient at holding your breath for 13 whole minutes (you must be one hell of a free diver in all your spare time...)maybe you could give us some fun lessons next Saturday morning.😅🌊🏊
Thanks for the puzzles. He really is beautiful!
Looking forward to next time. For now I think I'll go clean out my freezer! Wait! Was that a subliminal message?? You are a cult leader aren't you?? Lol
Enjoy your weekend and stay healthy!😷

He is so beautiful!

My heart sank a bit to know that Covid had finally got your family and especially hearty hearted Betty. So very thankful to know she appears to be on the mend, it could be so much worse and of course, we hate to admit to age, but it’s especially scary with an elder mum or dad. Btw, I love love the puzzles! It got me going to the puzzle site and picking some there to do but I love yours the best! I hope you will keep them coming! Very much appreciate you!

Phillip! Sorry dude, I thought you were going to be a tree. Handsome as ever. Nice puzzle for a Saturday AM.

Hope Betty makes a full and speedy recovery from the blight. For your sister that she perseveres dealing with the senses loss for however long it lingers. The first something I'd like to wake up to? Well.. someone like you would be pretty darn nice. But the puzzle had its amusing moment or two. I'm a lifelong "flatlander" so seeing pics of places others call home, even dog others, that enjoy vertical variation always has me stop and admire.
Addie
I LOVED THE PUZZEL!!!!! That was sooooooo fun.
Glad the “thing” is on it’s way out.
More puzzles please!
Mr. Lip is quite photogenic.
Meg
We could chant more, if that would up the cult leader vibes... "Do more stuff! Do more stuff!"
I'm waiting for the Christmas Pledge already. I would also probably like a word find with inappropriate words OR homework. What's fun about your homework is the not having to task oneself. It gets old doing all the cooking, cleaning, living, working, managing other people in one's household - so when someone else suggests something, it's at least novel. Which means FUN even if it's de-griming a mildewy shower seam. But maybe the crossword instead...

I’m so glad to hear that Betty is doing okay, and that you and your sister aren’t sick. I’ve been to only one social thing, just this past Saturday evening. We held our neighborhood watch meeting and chili cook off, outside under the Ramada at the pool. I was masked and didn’t eat anything until everyone had pretty much gone away. I didn’t sit all night - I didn’t want to get that close to anyone. It’s been 6 days, so I guess I wasn’t exposed. Every time my sister calls and thinks she has a sore throat or something, it is the “try to figure out where I was exposed” game.
Sounds like you had a good day before you found out about The Ick!! I’ll begin the puzzle - I like them and it really makes it an even harder puzzle, by trying to work it on the little screen. 😂 Take care, and get Betty up and about! I’m glad everyone is okay! ❤️
