The Great Gargantuan Giftmas Giveaway. 2015.

title-2   Quiz time.  Finish this sentence … ‘Tis the season to:

a) be jolly

b) head to the hospital due to unfortunate sparkle incident

c) pretend your sweaty Uncle Charlie doesn’t gross you out at the family Christmas party

d) win free stuff

Ding Ding Ding if you guessed all of the above, even though it wasn’t an official answer.

Be jolly folks!   I’m about to divert your attention from the sparkle that’s been embedded in your cornea since November 12th because it’s time for The Great Gargantuan Giftmas Giveaway!  Gifts just for you!  Just in time for Christmas and Chanukah! None of which you have to share with any relatives.  Sweaty or not.  Although you can if you’re a giving sort of person.

This year my sponsors and I are giving away over  $1,000 worth of gifts.  There are 10 gifts in total.  But things are going to be a little bit different this year.  Instead of one person winning e v e r y t h i n g, I’m going to pick 5 winners, who will get to pick 2 gifts each. The first name drawn gets the first choice of 2 gifts.  The second winner then gets to pick the 2 gifts from the remaining prizes that they’d like.   And so on down the list until I draw the last of the 5 winners.

Here’s what we’re giving away this year.

Turned Walnut cake stand from Cattails Studio valued at $225.

Take a look at her other cake stands right now because I’m sure Brenda from Cattails would let you have your choice.

85 greeting cards, stationary sets and art prints from Greymount Paper & Press are Valued at $192.

That’s right 85!  Christmas cards, Chanukah cards, blank cards, all your card giving needs met right here.  Practically Greymount Paper & Press’ entire stationary collection and they’re all completely charming.

Seed of the Month Subscription from Cubits … X2! valued at $190.

You know how I was saying you could keep the prize for yourself and didn’t have to share it with any sweaty relatives?  Well Laura from Cubits anticipated people would both want to keep their gift AND give it away.  So she’s giving away 2 seed of the month subscriptions.  One for you to keep and one to give away. So smart. Click on the link to see what seeds you’ll be getting.

$175 worth of indulgences JUST for you from Ellenoire.  Noelle is giving away $75 worth of body products and a $100 gift certificate for her store.  May I recommend you put some of that towards one of my favourite products from her store, the Aquis Hair towel.

6 embroidered tea towels of your choice from Diamond Dust Studio. $120 value.

This one above is one of my favourites but take a look and pick out which ones you like.

Here we go! A $120 gift certifcate to Lee Valley.

I’d go for the cooking package

1 mixing bowl, 2 Danish dough whisks (great for any sticky dough), 1 butter measuring guide and 1 rasp (the best tool ever for grating citrus zest or parmesan cheese) – total value $120.  But feel to browse.

L’absolu by Narciso Rodriguez from Lab Consignment. Value $105.

The gift you rarely buy for yourself.  Perfume.  A base of musk with hints of floral and soft amber.

$100 gift certificate to Crafty Little Gnome jewelry.  Adrienne makes a ton of different stuff but when I was browsing her Etsy shop I stopped dead when I came to this Geode necklace. It would be MY pick.  Plus you’d still have money left over for more!

Stuffed Stocking from Rough Linen.  Tricia from Rough Linen has put together a package of a linen stocking, a hand towel, a set of cocktail napkins and a small linen satchel filled with lavender.

My sheets, duvet cover, aprons and curtains are all Rough Linen. I cannot overstate my insane level of love for this stuff.

$100 gift certificate for Wool Dryer Balls from Clean Sypria.

My choice would be these limited edition “Van Gogh” messy palette ones. I LOVE them.  They’d make me feel artsy.

I will be announcing the 5 winners on Friday.  Contest closes on Wednesday at midnight.

I know Wednesday at midnight confuses people.  Does she mean Wednesday?  Or Thursday?  Or Tuesday even maybe?  Wednesday at midnight means if you go to work on Wednesday then come home, and eat dinner at around 7 p.m., then watch a bit of television, you’ll have a couple of more hours to enter the contest.  Once you have a late night snack, brush your teeth and get into bed it will be close to midnight and the contest will soon be closing.  So.  Wednesday at midnight.

To enter just click on one of my sponsors above and have a bit of a browse around.  Maybe make a few notes for Christmas gifts that you still need to get. THEN come back here and tell me you would like to win!

Sorry! This contest is now closed for entries.

Pin it, Tweet it, Facebook it.   Winners will be chosen randomly by some weird computer software I have.  Good luck.

  1. Cathy Bernard says:

Golly – how delightful! I browsed a bit but you had me at the Castile Studio walnut cake stand, what a beauty.

  2. Becky says:

The geode necklace for me, but her message in a bottle for my daughter.

    and that cake stand.. swoon.

The seeds I could share with my Dad who is FINALLY getting into gardening.

Karen, you always make it so hard to choose!!!

  3. Sue says:

Rough Linen is the only place to buy linen bedding!! Exquisite…and it would be wonderful to win that stocking? And Lee Valley is the BEST…I’ve still got catalogues from years ago!!!

  4. Sarah says:

AAaaaah!!!! Everything is so great! What a tough choice for whomever gets picked first. If I had to choose, it would be between the Cubit’s seeds (one for me; one for my sweet neighbor who ALWAYS drags our trash and recycling bins back up to the house), the cake stand (even though I don’t like baking…. it’s just so dern pretty), the perfume (b/c I never, ever buy perfume), and the Lee Valley gift card (I’d pick something for me and some tools for my husband). Fingers crossed!

  5. Erica J. says:

I just got lost looking through the Lee Valley catalogue. And that was only after getting lost in the land of beautiful jewelry at the Crafty Little Gnome’s Etsy shop. Tough choices but you’ve got my ideas flowing for Christmas presents. It’s going to be a fun year for shopping!

  6. Missnicoleo says:

The cubit’s subscription if we can ever afford a house in Vancouver!!!!

  7. Jean in BC says:

Love everything! I would have to start with Rough Linen, or Cattails Woodwork, or Cubits, or…

  8. Sue Burroughs says:

I would love some of the items from Ellinoire: The Lavender products, the Aquis Body towel, and I think regardless of whether I win or not, I just gave my husband a stocking stuffer idea – the “No Snore Aromatherapy tin”.
The Lee Valley gift certificate is high on my wish list as well. I love getting their newsletters, but I haven’t ordered from them yet.
And, last, but certainly not least, I drool over “Rough Linen’s” products but haven’t been able to talk myself into paying the price for their amazing bedding.
    Thanks for this great opportunity!

  9. caryl hodgdon says:

Wow it was a gift just browsing through your sponsors goods. I don’t know how the winners will be able to choose but God let me be one of them!

  10. Linda says:

I would love the gift shown from Lee Valley or just about anything from Cattails…french rolling pin would be my favorite.

  11. Tyler Lane says:

Oh, I’ve been dying to get my hands on some rough linen (literally) to see what the sheets and bedding would feel like, but my rolling pin from cattails could use a companion cake stand as well! Decisions, decisions…

  12. Jodie says:

So many luscious things!! I got lost in Lee valley… That languiole knife..yum. The geode necklace from cratfy gnome! ALL the wooden goodness of cattails studio! Rough linen….mmmm le purrrrrrrr. Please pick me I want to have trouble deciding!!! Pretty please?!??

  13. Janice says:

The geode necklace would answer my inn yearning for the best of two worlds.. Nerdy science and sparkly jewelry

  14. Ana says:

I gasped as soon as I saw the Narciso Rodriguez perfume. I was just given a tiny sample of it and love it. I tried to find it TODAY even. So I’d definitely go for that, and for my second choice, the Lee Valley giveaway. So many fun things to consider… would I get Grampa’s pumpkin carving kit?? Or that lovely mixing bowl that is flat on one side? Or touch-sensitive christmas lights!!??

$100 worth of Ellenoire bath bombs isn’t a bad idea either but I’d have to tele-commute from my tub! I’d never leave.

Thanks for the giveaway Karen, so many lovely things to dream about.

  15. Bev says:

I too got lost in the Lee Valley catalogue. So many delightful, unusual items. But would love a beginner carving set for sure. What fantastic giveaways!

  16. Sandra says:

No question – I’m addicted to Lee Valley 😉 They are carrying some nice items now to make packing for a flight easier, and we are celebrating a big milestone with a trip in our future. I also find the necklaces from Crafty Little Gnome quite stunning.

  17. Dana says:

I love the gift cards. And the cake stand. And the seeds from Cubits (I’ve grown their tomatoes, yum!) So many amazing things!

  18. Angie says:

It would be a very hard pick but Cattails does have lovely items and that cake stand is *gorgeous*.

Also, I’m with you on the kitchen stuff from Lee valley! Cake & cookie scoops would be first on my list 🙂

  19. Lesley says:

Oh, such beautiful stuff. If I had my druthers it’d be the Lee Valley gift certificate – because my friend Pat and I have a date to hit Lee Valley this coming Wednesday. It’ll be a first for me. It’ll be an adventure because if I drive Pat will explain to me for the entire trip how we’d be moving faster, or in the other lane, or already there if she was driving. If Pat drives I’ll be clutching the dashboard and muffling my shrieks because Pat is 80 and her driving terrifies me. Also, to be fair, I have control issues. My second choice would be that spectacular cake stand. I don’t make many cakes (cuz I’d just eat ’em) but I have all sorts of other ideas for what to display on it – candles and stones and pine cones and cheese and crackers ….. Good luck, everyone!

  20. Emily says:

I would love anything from Ellenoire or the Cattails cutting boards!!

  21. Stephanie Barnhart says:

All of these are so great! I think my favorites are the cake stand, cards, and rough linen stocking.

  22. Lindsay H says:

Cattails Studio caught my eye.. Not just because they were the first sponsor, but because I’ve been aching for a cake stand. ACHING, I tell you. But Greymount and Cubits were close runners-up. And also two and three on your list, respectively. Damnit. Uhh.

  23. Turbocharger says:

Omg, Lee Valley?! All of the things I never knew I needed, but now that I know, my life is incomplete without them.

  24. TucsonPatty says:

The Lee Valley catalog just hooked me right in, and regardless of anything else, I think there will be some more looking, and maybe some ordering…it was just too fun – all 60 pages. The French Rolling pin has always facinated me – I just made my famous Cherry Pie this morning for our friends early Thanksgiving dinner and could have used it! The Tea Towels from Diamond Dust look very interesting. And the dryer balls from Clean Spyria are tumbling away in my dryer at this very minute! I love them!
Good luck to the winners! Thank you to all the lovely advertisers and to you for sponsoring this Great Gargantuan Giftmas Giveaway for all your readers.
Off to the laundry – the dryer balls are calling my name!

  25. Paula says:

The last notification email I got was Nov 16th – do I need to re-register with the new site?

    • Karen says:

No, no Paula. For some reason the post didn’t publish at the right time and therefore didn’t get sent out by email for some reason. I’ve fiddled with it and the post should be emailed out to all subscribers by 9:00 a.m. 🙂 You should however have received an email on the 18th and 20th Check your trash or spam folder~ karen!

  26. Paula says:

I forgot the gift part 🙂 Seeds! Definitely seeds and I love the tea towels and the cake stand. I just can’t choose ‘one’. I would be happy to win one package of seeds, lol.

  27. Deborah Rokos says:

Great giveaway gifts! I’ll take any of them!

  28. Jeannette says:

Oh, my! What a wonderful giveaway! It’s so difficult to choose just one thing; I’d be thrilled to win any. I guess my favorites would be Lee Valley, a beautiful Cattails Studio cake stand, the Rough Linen stocking bundle, and the Sweet Sypria dryer balls (they really do work!).

  29. Grammy says:

I so love the things I got from Rough Linen after finding them here on your site, and having ordered a couple of other things from your ads, I trust you and your advertisers. Such lovely stuff for the giveaway might make it difficult for some to decide, but I have lusted after the beautiful woodwork at Cattails Studio and the exquisite tea towels at Diamond Dust Studio for so long now that I would probably choose those just to stop drooling. Then again, there are new things here and now I’m going to be thinking about those, too. As for Lee Valley, if there is a Heaven, I expect it would be Lee Valley and all of the people who come to your place would be there.

  30. Charlsie says:

Of course Cattails and Rough Linen are great. Diamond Dust is a Texas girl like me, love that vintage squirrel. But I gotta go with the balls. I want sented balls for Christmas. Pick me weird computer software.. Pick me.

  31. Elise Collins says:

The cake stand is gorgeous and lee valley has amazing things as well!

  32. Kristin S. says:

I would love to win any of these, but I’ve been loving Diamond Dust Studios ever since you posted the embroidered skull tea towel months ago!

  33. Diane says:

Lee Valley: I’d love to get the whittling set, the pocket chainsaw (because real ones scare me), fill in any gaps with the LED carabiner lights… or maybe I want the food dehydrator… and the safety edge can opener…

  34. Kara says:

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

I’d love the Cattails cake stand. Or the linen. Or the necklace. Or the Lee Valley card. Or the…. Obviously if I win I’ll have to get a random number generator first, just to choose!

  35. Nicole says:

I’d choose the cattails cake stand but then I would really need to renovate my kitchen. (It’s reasonable to renovate around a cake stand, no?). My other top pick would be cubits so I could amp up my gardening. Of course I’m already planning on buying some lee valley and maybe some dryer balls for Christmas and all of your sponsors have just wonderful things.

  36. guada says:

Man, I love everything! But those cakestands…!!! And of course I would need some intruments to make the cakes (thanks Lee Valley)!

  37. Catherine S says:

    So much eye candy!

The walnut cake stand from Cattails Studio makes one swoon. I would have to keep one for myself but need to order one or two for wedding gifts.

The Sypria dryer balls are intriguing, I think I should be those on my must have list.

Lee Valley is a staple in our household, we order a few times each year.

  38. Amanda says:

oh my gosh I IMMEDIATELY thought of a friend who would adore those quirky greeting cards! Also the ellënoire store is heaven – I want EVERYTHING.

  39. valerie says:

    the cake stand – WOW!

  40. Jan says:

I’m mad about the fine woodworking at Cattails Woodworking – I’d be pleased as punch to recieve any of her work – I’ve been thinking about buying one of the French rolling pins for a while. I really like those cards produced by Graymount Press, too. Those Bibliophile cards would be perfect for many of my friends. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  41. Farquist says:

I’ve purchased from Cattails Studio before and that would be my number one destination. Such beautiful things. Anything Lee Valley is a bonus.

  42. Emi says:

Any of those choices would make me so happy!
I’m starting gardening next summer so the seeds would be amazing, so would the Lee Valley gift card. I’m crazy about baking so the cake stand would be great too.
But the most awesome gift would be the Crafty Little Gnome jewelry. My mom loves original jewellery and she’s been such a big help since I bought my first home last year that she would get spoiled! But she might get something from Crafty Little gnome anyway since she is so hard to shop for at Christmas and you just gave me the idea for her gift this year!

  43. pamela ross says:

I love the cake stand from Cattails Studio, a studio located in my home province.

  44. Amy says:

Right now I am thinking rough linen but I reserve the option to change my mind!

  45. Maura says:

So many choices… I love the Acorn collection at Cattails and Pinafore and apron at Rough Linen.

  46. Bridget P. says:

I love the rough linen set and the ellenoire set! Great prizes!

  47. Jenny W says:

    Gifts galore, for everyone!
Who am I kidding, they would be for me 🙂
Lee Valley, because it’s like looking through a giant toy box, and Crafty Little Gnome because I can’t resist the sparkle!

  48. Ellen H. says:

That Walnut turned cakestand is a piece of art on its own, wow! And I’ve never owned a cakestand before!
Cubits…. SEEDS, must have and share! It’s in my DNA, several generations of farmers and gardeners.
Then there’s Lee Valley, gah…so many useful gadgets and thingamajigs!
    Giggles with Delight!

  49. Roxane Dunmore says:

Oh my! Will have to share your link on FB to give my family gift ideas for me!

  50. Kiara says:

The cake stand, anything from Lee Valley (my heart! I’ll be going there for Christmas for SURE this season)…that cooking package is right up my alley. What a beautiful bowl.
