    Welcome to The Snack Shack.

    When to Watch

    ๐ŸŒž

    ๐ŸŒ

    • Snacks shows up about 15 minutes before dawn.
    • He lands in the opening and gives things a once-over to make sure nobodyโ€™s moved in.
    • Then itโ€™s feathers, stretch, stare, and sleepโ€”right there in the entrance, where you can still watch him.
    • He only drops fully into the box if somethingโ€™s got him on edge.
    • As dusk rolls in, Snacks perks upโ€”more stretches, more preening.
    • He starts scanning the ground and sky.
    • Most nights, he hops to a nearby branch for a final look before heading out to hunt.

Snacks is a grey Eastern screech owl living in a small town backyard in Ontario, Canada. You can learn more about Snacks the screech owl here.

When Snacks is at home this camera will be live.

If you can fast forward the video is it not live. It's a recording of the previous day.

My name is Karen Bertelsen and I was a television host. In Canada. Which means in terms of notoriety and wealth, I was somewhere on par with the manager of a Sunset Tan in Wisconsin.

I quit television to start a blog with the goal that I could make my living through blogging and never have to host a television show again. And itโ€™s worked out. Iโ€™m making a living blogging. If youโ€™re curious, this is how I do that.

So Iโ€™m doing this in reverse basically. Iโ€™m the only blogger who is trying to NOT get a TV show.
