This Week’s Menu!
May 28th – June 3rd.

Yeah.  I said it.  June.  June 3rd.  I am now writing menus for June.  What the hell happened?  My mom (Betty) still has her winter cold!  How could we possibly be into June?

I’m pretty happy about it.  This is the first year I’ve been in this falling-apart-of-a-house that I haven’t had some huge disaster of a project going on.  There was the summer of the roof, the summer of the porch, the summer of the backyard, the summer of the fence, the summer of the chicken coop, and the summer of the chipmunk invasion, the summer of the neighbours having sex in their blindless bedroom.  With floor to ceiling windows.  And no apparent exercise or healthy eating routine.

This year the biggish project was the front yard redo which is now redone.  I do have a few projects lined up for this summer including reinsulating the chicken coop, building a blind to disguise my  blue boxes, painting the porch floor, inventing a machine you can drive you car through that washes it, and building an additional bathroom out of leftover dollar store project materials.  It will include a lot of sparkles.

So I should have some time on my hands.

Oh right!  Menu.  That’s the point of this post … you wanna know what I’m eating for some weird reason.

Here you go …

Wow! I just saw the cute old clothes post when coming to this one. How in the heck did I miss it? Well, what with the drive by shooting it’s been a busy week. Especially with my SIL shooting at the bad guy on their roof. He thought he shot him, the bad guy thought he was shot but all that blood was not from the bullet holes but from the tomato cage. Oh, and the menu looks good, especially the goat cheese and leeks tarts.

  2. Fella says:

Your chickens and your cats started acting crazy at 5:45am Saturaday morning. If this undesired and disruptive behavior is not corrected your livestock, pets, may find themselves on next week’s menu. Hopefully the cats will take this as the warning it’s intended to be and adjust their behaviour as well. If not we’ll eat them too.

    • Another Fella says:

Please share your recipe for the cat. I have the same livestock and pet hoarding female to contend with.

  3. Alex says:

    Have you considered a Summer of Opening a Restaurant/Diner yet? B&B? I’m just saying…

  4. Cynna says:

Yummy! Don’t you just love going into the garden to gather dinner ingredients?
Question–what font did you use to “write” on the chalkboard?

    • Karen says:

Cynna – Yes I do love going into the garden to pick food! It’s great. And the font I use is “Chalkduster”. ~ k!

  5. Julie says:

chipmunk invasion?? What chipmunk invasion??? Cause that’s what I have right now! Advice, please! My back field is waiting to cave in from all the tunnels.

    • Karen says:

Julie – Been there. We ended up having a “relocation program” and then filling in the tunnels. It worked. ~ karen

  6. Jan says:

    Quineo salad recipe…please.?

    • Karen says:

It’s on the post schedule for about 2 weeks from now! ~ karen

      • Patti says:

Haha! I was just going to ask that! I had my first bridal shower in Saturday and was given a huge bag of Quinoa, and now I have to figure out what to do with it! I`m excited!

  7. Jan says:

Wow- is that a REAL post from fella? Somehow all the comments seem to show up a day after the original blog post. Curently, I see 4 out of 7 comments.

    • Karen says:

Jan – Yes. That is a real post from the fella. The comments go up as soon as I approve them. I usually approve them right away unless they come in in the middle of the night. That’s why sometimes it’ll say there’s 15 comments, but you only see 2 or 3. ~ karen

  8. Jan says:

    I mean ” currently”

  9. I will take a chipmunk invasion any day. Adorable little bastards.
