You know, have a Japanese pinafore and I love it. I’m not sure I’d wear it out, but I have been tempted before. I would love to get one for my mom who bought me the Japanese one, but didn’t get one for herself.

first Valentine’s Day of married life I come home from night classes to find one of those Russell Stover’s hearts and a bag of mulched paper. Weak smile on my part is greeted with BIG grin on his “See hearts and flowers!” “Oh it’s that wildflower seed stuff–good one.”

  6. Bols says:

Huh! I am getting myself the Kitchen Renovation – just what I need (and want)!

  7. Eddie Cummings says:

I’m making my husband a Valentine’s day card covered in paper flowers that’s more like a piece of art that will be presented in a frame that he can keep forever.

  8. Sally says:

I love the key to me heart tee shirt too, but alas they don’t have it in men’s sizes. My fella would wear that.

  9. Katie C says:

p.s. to my original comment–Holy smokes, I was just at the Rough Linen website, and this, indeed, can be a dress-like thing! Yay! So cute and hip and organic and artsy and just generally cool. Can’t wait to get one! And will NOT wait for Valentine’s Day. 🙂

  10. Jennifer says:

I love my rough linen pinafore too ! If I have tools in the pockets and lean over the apron falls forward to the point of it almost flipping right off. I added ties midway down the back of it and it helps a ton!

  11. Katie C says:

Oh, a pinafore is an apron??! How did I miss this bit of general knowledge? I thought that was a jumper-like dress, and wanted it badly. An apron, I don’t need so much… But it sure is cute.

  12. Sandy says:

I have a bread bag from Rough Linen and love it. I want the apron too!

  13. Reg says:

    Love the Rough Linen pinafore.
Um..the pink hair dye kind of freaked me out. Are the younger set really doing that?
    Gawd I feel old.

You’ve outdone yourself! These are great. Still have my address?

  19. Lesley Williamson says:

Oh good, another Valentines Day sans a significant other. Could be worse though – I could still be with the guy who bought me a bathroom scale for Valentines Day “because you said you needed one”. It is THIS incident that the famous massacre refers to FYI.

  20. Nikidee says:

Mmmmm radishes. I could just sit on that gorgeous wood stool and eat pink radishes. Yup, I’m a cheap Valentine!

  21. victoria says:

You look great in the apron!!! I want it too!

    • Karen says:

LOL. Thanks Vicotoria! I have to say I love that apron. love it love it love it. Mainly because if I go outside to do stuff in the garden, or I’m cooking in the house I feel good, ya know? Also, after seeing that picture I’ve decided I need to cut my hair a little shorter again. ~ karen!

A very old fashioned tradition regarding Valentine’s Day:

Send an amorous but anonymous card to someone special. Never admit it was you who sent it.
