    Just a Puzzle

The owl is still here. Snacks has spent the entire week roosting in the opening of his owl box all day long and I have spend the entire week crouched on the kitchen floor, looking up through the window at him.

Talons on an Eastern Screech owl.

He starts to wake up just before 6 p.m. and gives a stretch, maybe has a bit of a look around. Then he hops down onto a lower branch in the tree where he sits for a few minutes before silently flying off.

    He's very quiet.

    Much quieter than most snacks.

If you missed it earlier this week, Snacks is the owl who moved into my owl box this week. So if you've ever hung an owl box and never got an owl, I'm proof that it is possible. I've been tryin gfor 10 years.

Would you like to save this stuff?

We'll email you this post, so you can refer to it later.

I was scrolling through some of the blurry images I got of him and noticed I actually got a shot of his talons in one of them (you can see those in the photo at the top of this post.)

Those talons and the rest of him are the basis for today's puzzle.

    Good luck.

Have a good remainder of your weekend.

I LOOOOOOOOVE owls. We had one that hung out at a park near my house for a couple weeks. I was lucky enough to get to visit him and take some photos, but the professional photographers in my town caught some really amazing shots. They are such beautiful birds. I hear them all the time around my neighborhood, and once looked out my kitchen window to see two in one of my pines out back. Hung out for an afternoon and allowed me to take some blurry, zoomed in photos, and then were never seen again.

The puzzle was fun, but challenging with all the similar color feathers. Took me 4:25 for the 56 piece.

Can't wait to follow along with your resident owl!

Thanks for the fun puzzle today. His feathers are amazing as they reflect the house paint color blue!

Great pic Karen, owls are amazing ,we had one outside the cottage . We never even noticed him and the one day my friend just happened to spot him ,he was so close! And so pretty. We took a bunch of pics and he never moved . When we were done he flew off ,the wing span was incredible and he was so graceful. And arrogant. lol.

Only a fair to middlin' 7:19 this evening. The camouflage capabilty of the bird is quite impressive. You might consider setting up a webcam/trailcam for Snacks?
