    THE ROSE BOWL

I stole this idea from Preston Bailey, the guy who planned Oprah's 50th birthday party.    I only steal ideas from the very best!

    Bigger is better

    What you need:

    1 or 2 large roses

    Rose petals in shallow dish

    1 shallow bowl

    1) Gently pluck all the petals off your roses.

Would you like to save this stuff?

We'll email you this post, so you can refer to it later.

    2) Carefully lay them in circles in a shallow bowl of water until they appear to be one large rose.

    3) Work from the outside towards the inside, starting with a large circle with the biggest petals you have.  Continue in circles using smaller and smaller petals. They'll float around a bit and anger you, but just move them back to where they belong and continue on.

    4) Tear off a couple of leaves from the rose and stick them under the petals.

Oh!  And do this arrangement where you plan to keep it.   It really doesn't travel well.

My name is Karen Bertelsen and I was a television host. In Canada. Which means in terms of notoriety and wealth, I was somewhere on par with the manager of a Sunset Tan in Wisconsin.

I quit television to start a blog with the goal that I could make my living through blogging and never have to host a television show again. And it’s worked out. I’m making a living blogging. If you’re curious, this is how I do that.

So I’m doing this in reverse basically. I’m the only blogger who is trying to NOT get a TV show.
