Karen, I just now realized that you don't seem to be doing the advent calendar this year, which makes me sad. I so looked forward to it every day of December last year and was hoping you'd do another one this year. I'm sure it's a lot of work to put together, but know that it is missed. You rock!

Hi Laura! Thanks, and it was an enormous (like ENORMOUS, lol) amount of work. But I will look into doing a 12 day (instead of a 25 day) one next year because I know how much people liked it. ~ karen!

I love Christmas and I love the Christmas Pledge. Well worth the money for the preparation and organization it inspires. Plus I love the smug feeling when I am done and binging on Hallmark movies while others are fighting over the last house shoe at the mall (or where people shop in person these days).

It’s fun! I always read the annual Christmas pledge to remind myself of how much goes into preparing for the holiday season and how un-fun it is to be in a frenzy to get those things done. I use it to remind myself of some of the things I easily forget about that need to be taken care of and those things that if you don’t do early will not happen. Post this pledge on your refrigerator or other place you look at frequently during your day.

This is my first year for the Christmas pledge. I am into day two. I find going through the calendar I actually am ahead of myself. Looking forward to giving it my best. Thanks

Every Year....I do Karen's Christmas Pledge! I'm her Texas best friend, but she doesn't know me yet! LoVE following her Christmas Pledge even when I'm 75% of the time getting sidetracked by a squirrel or something. Karen, Thank You for always doing what you do! You're the Best!

In the past decade the Christmas Pledge has transformed me from a procrastinating maniac, screeching into the mall parking lot with a few hours to spare before Christmas, into a calm, cheerful person who AVOIDS the mall two weeks before Christmas. Instead, I'm home enjoying egg nog or cocoa, wrapped presents sitting under the tree, and waiting for my next holiday party with a fresh manicure and haircut.
Not hyperbole, the Pledge helped me with my *entire* life, too. Once I realized I didn't have to arrive to holiday parties harried, frazzled, and sweaty, I realized this applies to other areas in my life. Going to the airport I could simply pack the day before, instead of jamming things haphazardly in a suitcase 2 hours before I had to arrive at the gate. Birthday gifts could be purchased in advance. Meals could be planned ahead. Vet appointments and haircuts could be regularly scheduled!
Maybe you're already this put together; but on the off chance you're not - take The Christmas Pledge!
