In the spirit of Valentine's Day a love poem. A rare glimpse into my mushy side. More correctly, my mashy side.

CARBS a love poem
You haunt me, warm & crusty roll
You do not stink like rotting troll
But rather your smell is a wonderful thing
Like flowers, dew and the scent of spring
I love you pasta in my bowl
Sliding right into my pie hole
I eat and eat more macaroni
I wish my mouth was a big zamboni
Rice, you're good but not that great
On a list of carbs you're last on my plate
But you're better than dirt
or gross Brussels sprouts
Which taste a lot like ankle gout
But POTATOES my dear you're the love of my life
French fried or mashed on the end of a knife
With gravy or butter packed in my gut
I love you so much and so does my butt
For when you're together you two intermingle
Potatoes and bum go like soda & Pringles
All carbs in fact, they say you are bad
But I think they're crazy, they're totally mad
You have a bad rap
For you I will say
I'd take carbs over Keto breath any old day
You're simple and silent, right in my cupboard
No trips to Whole Foods or selling my mother
You don't cost a lot but pay big dividends
I know you & I will always be friends
To all of my carbs
My heart's on the line
Be my Valentine please
'Til the end of all time
Karen bertelsen
To all of my carbs
My heart's on the line
Be my Valentine please
'Til the end of all time
This is truly my life. I've never met a carb I didn't like. And I've been carb loading like mad lately. Thanks, winter! 🙄 Karen, hope you and yours have an extra mushy--and mashy!--Valentine's day! ❤❤❤
You are so crazy, but I do think your love poem is perfect!
Thank you! I have to go check on my scalloped potatoes now. ~ karen!
Best love poem EVER.
Thank you! I kind of agree. ~ karen!
Absolutely the best Valentine's Day poem.
Can I turn this into a song please? With credits, of course!
Karen, you are a light in a gloomy February waiting for spring. Thanks for all the smiles. The love of potatoes runs deep in this house too. :)
Potatoes improve mood. Not an entirely scientific fact but plausible I think. ~ karen
