    Antique Show Finds Sneak Peak

Oh, my people, antique show season has arrived and it's a wonderful, french fry filled, thing.

Costume jewellery under glass with tree reflections

Today I went to the first big antique show of the season. The Aberfoyle Saturday Special is a fairly large open antique market. The market is usually open only on Sundays throughout the warm weather, but twice a year, a special (more expensive but comes with a fancy paper wristband) Saturday show takes place.

I went on Saturday and found a couple of things for myself and took a lot of photos. All of those will be coming up later in the week along a compelling story about how I groggily woke up one morning last week with a half eaten cookie in my hand.

The jewellery case sneak peak above has of course been transformed into a puzzle. A 25 piece and an 81 piece.

    The 25 Piece Puzzle

One piece for every time I said "I don't have room for it" during the day at the show.

Would you like to save this stuff?

We'll email you this post, so you can refer to it later.

    The 81 Piece Puzzle

One piece for every time I said "This is ugly. I like it."

Have a good remainder of your weekend.

I'm definitely missing Christie's Antiques. How does this compare to Christie's?

Oooo was wondering if you’d go, especially since the Christie one is no longer with us 😢. I thought about it but that many people in one place can give me the heebie jeebies. I heard that last year they bussed folks from other parking lots?
I remember my mum wearing those aurora borealis brooches…. I thought they were GORGEOUS! Thanks for the memory on Mother’s Day 😁

ohhh, haven't been there in years!! I, like you, use antique dishes for dinnerware and that was my go to place! I might have to head up #6 some Sunday for a wee boo!

Sounds like you had fun browsing through antiquity. You never know what you might find.... which keeps Antiques Roadshow in solid ratings.

My name is Karen Bertelsen and I was a television host. In Canada. Which means in terms of notoriety and wealth, I was somewhere on par with the manager of a Sunset Tan in Wisconsin.

I quit television to start a blog with the goal that I could make my living through blogging and never have to host a television show again. And it’s worked out. I’m making a living blogging. If you’re curious, this is how I do that.

So I’m doing this in reverse basically. I’m the only blogger who is trying to NOT get a TV show.
