My Kitchen Aid officially has pizzazz. Once you see mine you're probably going to want a pizzazzy stand mixer too. Just don't buy a decal for yours until you read this post.
Told ya. My 20 year old Kitchen Aid, that's missing a couple of parts and has a whisk that clangs as it goes round now looks youthful and refreshed, ready to mix up something magical like chocolate chip cookies or fireworks.
The decal only took a few minutes to put on and even with me making mistakes, it turned out perfectly.
Stand Mixer decal joke for you:
Why shouldn't you put a decal on your stand mixer?
Because if you do, it won't blend anymore.
No, but seriously I'm really impressed with this thing.
I'll never have to worry about someone accidentally taking my mixer home at a bring-your-own stand mixer party. It's the one with pizzazz.
THE ANALYSIS
I mean, it's fantastic.
It cost $15 US and it's definitely worth that. You won't think so when it arrives in the mail as 4 simple stickers.
But those decals are advanced. Each colourful part is a floating individual sticker.
Vinyl decals are printed on sticky paper, die-cut, and topped with a clear protective layer that you remove after you've applied the decal.
HOWEVER
Next week I'll show you how to make one yourself. Not as fancy. It won't be laser or die-cut. But it will look good.
If you know right now that you're never going to make a stand mixer decal yourself (it'll be easy) then go ahead and buy a decal now and get it over with so you can stop thinking about it.
I'm an Amazon affiliate (like every blogger) so every purchase you make from my site contributes to my income - but doesn't cost you anything. Amazon gives me on average a commission of 3% per item I sell.
It used to be 8%. I, like you, have a love/hate relationship with Amazon.

How to Apply a Vinyl Decal - to your stand mixer
1. Your package will probably include 4 pieces, one for each lower side of the mixer & two for along the top.
2. Take a corner of the clear protective layer and peel the sticker off of its backing. Gently place the sticker where you want it. Be careful not to touch it to the surface until you're sure of its placement. It's grabby.
3. If your design is going around a bit of a curve, cut the protective layer so your sticker can bend.
4. Press the sticker down using your finger then with flexible plastic like a credit card to get rid of air bubbles.
5. When it's stuck you can peel the protective layer off. The design will be left behind on the mixer.
6. That's it. You're done.
The stickers are STUCK but they can be removed. Don't expect to use them again though.
Which is a sad notion for me because I really like my decals - I just think I might like the one I'm making myself more.
And if that's the case I'll need to remove these stickers that I bought but it won't be a loss because they helped me learn how to make them myself.
Which means after spending a couple of days figuring it out, I can teach you how to do it in minutes.
I do it the hard way so you can do it the easy way.
I don't even keep my stand mixer on my counter, it lives in a cupboard like a Victorian era child.
Stay tuned for when I unveil the DIY tutorial on how to make one yourself next week (including a free downloadable image).

Best sentence in the bunch: I don't even keep my stand mixer on my counter, it lives in a cupboard like a Victorian era child.
Thanks for my Friday chuckle!
Karen
Yes! I'll admit to being quite happy with that sentence, lol. ~ karen!
Patti_is_knittinginflashes
I love this idea! I will have to look for the decal paper for laser printers.
Sonja
Love the decals! As someone who vinyls a lot for fun (getting ready to cut a 30" owl!) it's wonderful to see someone else enjoying vinyl! Will make you happy every time you see it!
Karen
30"?! ~ karen
Kat
It came out really adorable! I love it.
Sarah Laurianti
I've never scrolled past any of your content before, but today is the day. I'm just here to tell you I have the exact same decals on my white Kitchenaid and it's made my life better. :)
I will now go back and read everything.
Karen
We're mixer twins! It's funny I should even like these because normally I like plain, restaurant style looking appliances, but it's hard to say no to a rooster. ~ karen!
Jillb
I have one that's a quote from Doctor Who - Hello Sweetie! Which, considering I bake a lot is perfect. I also love it and think it was worthwhile!
Karen
Such a simple thing, yet so satisfying. ~ karen!
Liz
Cool! I got the blue cornflower decal that look like vintage corning ware for my white stand mixer. (from Etsy) Thanks for the inspiration!
Karen
I'd love that pattern. ~ karen!
Canadamsel
Dang! Now I'm going to have to buy a stand mixer. Wait... maybe there's room somewhere on my 1940s Sunbeam Mixmaster. I'll have to find it first. It's still in a box from my recent move.
Karen
I thought you were going to say it's still in its box - from the 1940's, lol. ~ karen!
Laura Parker
Ha! I got a mixer decal set for Valentine's Day and, frustratingly, it did NOT come with instructions, so thank you very kindly for these. I'll post a photo when I finish.
Karen
Oh, good! Just take your time on the first one and you'll see how easy it is. Just don't touch down before you're ready to really place it. ~ karen
Lisa G
Holy forking shirtballs. Yeah, I'm buying these IMMEDIATELY and they're going straight onto a pair of wooden-heeled clogs. And maybe also hubby's instantpot because why not. You just plain GET it, Karen.
Karen
I threw my instant pot out a couple of weeks ago. I put it on the curb for someone to take for free. Then I ran out and brought it back inside. I have no earthy idea why. ~ karen!
Val
Looking for a nice kraken decal for mine…
Karen
I have a weird feeling I spotted one of those. Try Etsy! They have some decals too. ~ karen!
Raro
Looks spiffy! I'd like to add a decal to mine with some measurement equivalences so I don't have to hunt for them on the fly. Just how many tsp are there in 1 tbsp? Bam! It will be right there. On another note, when the enamel started flaking off the original beater and I had to replace it, I learned how to adjust the clearance of the beater in the bowl. Handy to know that the two big screw heads you see when you tilt the top back control the beater clearance. And you test the clearance by putting a penny in the bowl and seeing how the penny whirls around. Try it and the clanging will stop and you can write a witty post about the whole process.
Sonja
I learn something new every day! Thanks for sharing!
Karen
I had no idea! Thank you! Although I'm not sure it will help. There's just one wire on the whisk that's bent in such a way that it clangs. But I'll give it a shot. ~ karen!

Reminds me of what I used to do to my luggage so I could easily spot it on the belt.
Kath
Me too! I used to get out my fabric paints and put flowers and my initials on any new luggage. I had a cab driver once ask me where I got my bag because his wife would love one like that. Learned after the first trip to put some on all sides, in case it comes down the carousel on it's front.
Karen
One of my sisters *just* painted her luggage with polka dogs for the same reason. ~ karen!
Christmas Carol
I hope that's not a typo, 'cuz I'm in love with the idea of dogs dancing the polka
Karen
HAHAHAH!

Well that looks fabulous! One thought- if you have a really, really old school Kitchen Aid Pro series with the matte or pebbled finish, I'm not sure the decal would apply so nicely. Mine is not the smooth enamel finish as yours is.
Jennie Burt
They should work on a pebbled surface. But to get the stickers to adhere well, rub them on with the soft pad of your thumb. Remove the clear cover and gently warm it with a hair dryer. That helps the adhesive activate and stick better.
Karen
Definitely not. These are going to look best on smooth finishes for sure. Although as far as matte goes, you can get matte sticker paper as well. For some reason it only comes in white, but that would still work for certain designs.~ karen!
Lynn
Hahaha hi Karen
I saw those perhaps a week ago. I actually sent my daughter to that sight. She loved the stickers , but she is terrified that if she got them her young children 5 and almost 2 will take it that they can put stickers everywhere in the house .

We have a 1970s-era avocado-colored Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It not only needs decals, it needs a total wrap. We keep ours under wraps on the counter.
Karen
Hahaha! I see what you did there. Although I bet I'd love your 70's stand mixer. ~ karen!
Christmas Carol
My doctor bought a new office suite, and the fixtures in a couple of rooms were still 70's Avocado. She redecorated with a dark-green/royal purple color scheme, and it looked simply smashing. Very modern too.
Elmine
To each their own.
I have to add this is the first of all. the. things. you’ve shared with us that I’m not too impressed with.😊
Karen
That's fine with me if it's fine with you. :) ~ karen!
Ash
I don't even own a stand mixer but somehow I want to do this. Maybe I can find something else to decal until I can afford one. It might fit on my sewing machine....
Anna M
Toaster oven! Refrigerator! Water bottle! Stickers and decals are so fun :)
Kath
I think the toaster oven would burn them.
Karen
I know. I'm not sure why it's so fun but it is. I'm sure you could find something. Crock pot? ~ karen!

Looks very professional - FYI it's the same technology they use for most vinyl graphics and signage. I especially like the ability to set down a length of pics/letters in one shot, rather than trying and failing miserably to stick down individual items in a straight line. BTDT I'd do this on my Kitchenaid Classic but fear the loss of what little 'manly-man' remains in my aging carcass.
Jennie Burt
Buy a Manly Man sticker!!!
gretchen
I put decals on my stand mixer almost 15 years ago. But I went with flames. ;)
