Day one of vacation: weeded for 4 hours at the vegetable garden, hand squished enough Colorado potato beetles to retire the gloves I used, made 3 pizzas in the pizza oven, ate Ruffles & Helluva Good Dip the way all smart people do - when I wasn't even hungry, because you eat less of them that way.

Please enjoy today's puzzle while I continue to vacation.
Kindle, Kobo or paperback? I am in all the camps.
- Kobo because I can borrow library books on it.
- Paperbacks because nothing is like an actual book with Cheezie fingerprints.
- Kindle because I had to - I get advance copies of books & they're only formatted for Kindles
Would you like to save this stuff?
Right now I'm reading Wally Lamb's latest book, The River is Waiting, which I want to call The River is Calling for no reason other than, if I'm not reading a paperback, I do not remember the title of what I'm reading. Or the author. Or the cover art.
It's one of the many quirks that makes me, me. It also makes me very difficult to get information about books from.
I didn't think I was going to like it for the first chapter or so and then WHAM. I liked it. I'm about 10 or 11 chapters in at this point.
What about you? If you have a summer read you loved or are looking forward to reading let everyone know. Maybe include another book you like to give people an idea of your tastes.
Or don't. It's summer. You're the boss of you.

So true about forgetting authors and titles because of Kindle! Just enjoyed Liane Moriarty's Here One Moment - different but fun. Favorite (favourite) line is a 20 yr. old commenting on adulthood: "What next - orthotics?!"

Hi Karen
Right now, I am reading "The Dubliners" by James Joyce when I am outside with the dogs. They don't read, they just want me to throw their slimy balls and toys so they can fetch and chew before giving it to me to throw again.
By my bed, I am reading "Wuthering Heights". Who doesn't like a little Heathcliffe to fall asleep to...
And on my Kindle i am currently reading "The Passage" by Irina Shapiro. It is almost irritating, as I go through my Kindle books like water, and the authors can't seem to keep up. That's with the corrections I send in.
I think I should be an editor of e-books, so many typos and grammatical errors, not to mention punctuation.
But I do enjoy the historical fictions...
The books are my escape from the task of scanning and cataloging the bins and bins of family photos which have been given to me for the sake of compiling the Family Tree... Thank goodness for Ancestry, Billion Graves,Family Tree Magazine, and so many others!
Keeps me relatively sane.

Thank you for the puzzle! I'm all about female-led urban fantasy and am looking forward to re-reading the Mercy Jackson Series by Patricia Briggs this summer. (It's been about 8 years since I first read it.) I love the way she writes, it's easy to get immersed in the world she's created - this collection is steeped in Native American lore. The story telling keeps you engaged and does not veer off into sophomoric or too far fetched. I finish her books and find myself looking for the tell tell signs of hidden species. lol

I forgot to include that I generally use Libby through my Kindle. I'm quite frustrated that it's hard for me to read paperback books any more. I also read free books from Amazon through their Kindle app.

Where is the processed cheese comment? Was the comment on Cheezies it?

Two books that have stayed with me after reading are Life Hacks For A Little Alien by Alice Franklin and Hope This Finds You Well by Natalie Sue. Both are debut novels and I'm eagerly waiting for more!

Hahaha, I’m so glad you said that about not remembering if it’s not a paperback! I thought I was just getting older and forgetful, as I used to know all book titles and authors for every book I read. Now, I just don’t, and your comment made me realize it’s because I mostly read on my iPad now (kindle app) and I DO remember those I read if they’re paper! Ha, I feel so much better, lol. Weird how technology blocks something and can’t replace the handling of a physical paper book. Love the puzzle image! Thanks Karen!

Enjoy the vaca - TRY to do nothing... if you can. As always puzzles are fun.
